I attended the car show this weekend held at Suffolk County Community College Campus in Brentwood. Some nice really nice cars on display. It was a perfect day to be outside enjoying one of the things I like most, cars. Nearing the end of the day, I came across a particular car, which is like finding a needle in a haystack. A 1969 Chevy Z28 Camaro. It was blue on blue, a very unusual original color combination. The gentleman showing it was the original owner. The car was great car and in my opinion probably the best one at the show. Clean, original factory built, with no modifications, just the way I like them. This car was cared for. The gentleman shared he was in Vietnam when he arranged to purchased the car. He sent letters and money home to his parents who bought the car for him. It was waiting for him when he returned from Vietnam. He has the original bill of sale, letters he sent home and pictures of him as a young soldier in Vietnam. It was interesting speaking with him. The fact that this car was in such great condition after so many years with no fancy modifications was really impressive. Had there been a for sale sign on her, there would have been little to stop me from buying it.
By the looks of it and the pride he takes in that car, I won’t hold my breath on that happening any time soon!
